Think piece on plastics and the pandemic

Our PhD student in Behaviour Change, Ayse Lisa Allison, has published a think piece on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on plastic waste, and how the uptake of single-use plastics such as PPE and packaging impacts on our environmental and public health.

Ayse's research, as part of the Designing-out Plastic Waste project, aims to identify the behaviours of key actors in different sectors of the circular economy (e.g. related to reducing, reuse, recycling), in order to understand influences on behaviour, and to design and evaluate interventions that are likely to be effective at reducing plastic waste.
